Teacher's wish list
As Hien and I mentioned at the last PTA meeting, we have been working with teachers throughout the school to put together a list of items that they need for the new term and beyond. We felt that many of the things may already be sitting gathering dust in a parent's, grandparent's or distant aunt's house or something that a family had seen and might like to donate.
The Teacher's Wish Lists contain items big and small from chalks, cushion fillers, ribbons to planks, tyres or sheds. We have included details on whether they need to be new for safety reasons or can be second hand (but obviously in good condition). Some items need to be with the teachers prior to the start of term, if you have these or would like to donate them then please contact Hien or myself to organize when we can get them to the school (email email@example.com).
Finally, there are certain odd jobs which we thought those more handy parents might like to help with (for the price of a cold beer perhaps!) and have organized a Lend a Hand Day on Friday 31st August when we will be looking to paint, saw, nail and hammer to help get ready for the new term. If you can spare an hour or so then many hands make light work!
The aim of this project is to try to reduce the cost and environmental impact of some of the projects happening at the Vineyard by reusing or recycling where possible or where a parent may prefer to donate an item and see the real and immediate benefit of their generosity.
We have asked teachers to update the sheets with items as and when needed. Hien and I will be co-oridinating the initiative so please confirm with us if you are kindly able to donate an item and we can amend the lists accordingly (email firstname.lastname@example.org). The latest version of The Teacher's Wish Lists can be found on this page below.
We hope you like the idea and we look forward to seeing many of you on the 31st August for our first Lend a Hand day (full details to follow).
Many thanks in advance for your support and have a great summer,
Charlie and Hien
